Sadie says “hello,” takes a seat
And pours another cup of tea.
She whistles from the café to the corner
To the bus stop on the street.

Always dancing in my living room,
Always laughing, but she’s leaving much too soon.
When she smiles, well, I want to see her.

Sadie says, “hello.” (x2)

Sadie says “hello,” takes a seat,
And we are driving down the street.
She listens to the radio,
And waves at all the people that we don’t know.

Always dancing in my living room,
Always laughing but she’s leaving much too soon.
When she smiles, well, I want to see her.

Sadie says, “hello.” (x2)

Sadie writes, “hello” in a letter
That she’s sending from the city.
She writes of her adventures
And the things she’d like to do and maybe see.

Ain’t it funny how time never seems to slow?
It passes quickly and before you even know,
It’s been too long a time since I have seen her…

Sadie says, “hello.” (x2)
